Day 9This morning we will begin our day with a short train journey to Córdoba, an important Roman city which later, during the Middle Ages, was known as the Moors’ “Mecca to the West,”. Your highlight is a visit to the Gran Mezquita, the 8th-century mosque supported by hundreds of marble columns that in 1236 was transformed into a cathedral. Next, we will enjoy a savory lunch of local cuisine followed by a walking tour for you to soak in Cordoba’s rich history of Roman, Jewish, and Moorish rule before we catch a late afternoon train back to Sevilla.
